Metal Doré is a solid bar, composed of a mixture of gold, silver and other metals and is exported in individual wooden crates of approximately 120 kilos.
It is a product with pre-refining at the sites of each mining company. Under this format, it generates management from withdrawals to final destinations, where it is refined again to obtain fines with a purity of Au 99.99% and Ag 99.9%.
About three-quarters of the world's gold production is consumed in jewelry. Its industrial applications, especially in electronics, consume 10-15%. The remainder is divided between medical and dental uses, minting and reserves for government and private individuals. Gold coins and other decorative objects are actually alloys because the metal is too soft (2.5-3 on the Mohs scale) to be useful with frequent handling.
In most of its applications, silver is alloyed with one or more metals. Silver, which has the highest thermal and electrical conductivities of all metals, is used in electrical and electronic contact points. It is also widely used in jewelry and various parts. Among the alloys in which it is a component are dental amalgams and metals for engine bearings and pistons.
Silver is a rather scarce element. It is sometimes found in nature as a free element (native silver) or mixed with other metals. However, it is most often found in ores containing silver compounds. The main silver ores are argentite, cerargyrite or silver horn and various ores in which silver sulfide is combined with the sulfides of other metals. Approximately three-quarters of the silver produced is a by-product of the extraction of other ores, mainly copper and lead.
